Kiesha Wright is an extraordinary performer whose name has become
synonymous for high energy, extraordinary legs, good looks and amazing
talent. She has starred as TINA TURNER in the "Legends in Concert”
show and the "Rock &Roll Heroes.“ She is exciting to watch. If
you think she is just another impersonator…you are wrong! Kiesha is
talented, a great vocalist, a dancer, and pretty. In December of 1997,
Kiesha performed her amazing Tina Turner Tribute to a national TV
audience on the Jenny Jones show that featured “The Jenny Jones
Look Alikes.” Kiesha performed one of her original songs that she
wrote and when she did her Tina Turner impersonation the crowd went
wild. It aired again in January of 1998 to include that the applause
was the best of "The Jenny Jones Show Series.”
Kiesha has made many other TV appearances including ”Good Morning
Atlanta” which airs on Channel 5 in the greater Atlanta viewing area.
She also appeared on KGO ABC Channel 7 in conjunction with the Alameda
County Food Bank for the annual food drive for the needy and handicapped
on December 18, 2000. Also she performed at the grand opening of the
Wax Museum in San Francisco that was shown on KRON channel 4. That
lead to the write up by Angela Hill of The Oakland Tribune. The
article's headline read HEAD TURNER featured on November 14, 2000
and the first paragraph starts with, "Is she, or isn’t she? Only
her driver’s license knows for sure. She’s got the voice. Sounds like
honey in a gravel pit. She's got the sneer. Looks like she just stepped
on a tack. She’s got the jiggle. Seems to come from somewhere in her
big toe, crawls up her thighs and takes over her entire body with
such a shudder scientists may need to study whether this woman is
responsible for touching off earthquakes in the Bay Area.
“Who
would have thought a performer who dresses up like TINA TURNER would
be "Mother of the Year." I was so surprised, and pleased,
by that recognition.”
Not only impersonating Tina Turner, Kiesha has a program called “Kiesha Wright Children's Foundation ORG.” She feeds one to two hundred people
a day, so when she performs, Kiesha takes this money and gives back
to the community by feeding the needy. This is why Mayor Jerry Brown
made her Oakland’s "Mother of the Year 2000". Kiesha said,
“IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU, IT’S ABOUT OTHERS TOO.”
