Legends
in Concert Story - The Early Years
Years before her time with Legends in Concert,
Kiesha Wright started her career in music while pursuing
her degree in dance and music at Memphis Tennessee State College.
During this time she met an agent who saw her singing and playing
the organ in a night club. He thought she looked and sounded like
rock star legend Tina Turner, he then asked her if she would like
to be a celebrity look alike impersonator. At that time Kiesha
didn’t understand what it meant to be a celebrity impersonator
or look alike, until he went onto explain about Tina Turner celebrity
look alike opportunities in Las Vegas. Kiesha started performing
as a celebrity look alike at the Hotel Hilton in Reno,
and the Nugget in Sparks, Nevada,
her celebrity impersonator performance captivated the media and
this led to performing in the Legends in Concert
Show based in Las Vegas. Kiesha's performance
as a Tina Turner look alike caught the media's attention bringing
with it many write ups in California magazines and newspapers
such as Fun In Gamming, News Reporter,
Hollywood Report, Oakland Tribune
and more. This media attention eventually lead to Kiesha performing
with the Legends in Concert Show, Las Vegas.
Legends in Concert Story - Legends in Concert Show Years
During
this time Kiesha never thought that she might possibly perform
as a Tina Turner look alike in the Legends in Concert Show; however,
she captured the ears of the great producer John Stuart
in Las Vegas, who produced the Legends in
Concert Show. John Stuart took an interest in Kiesha
and found her very talented; he then hired her for The
Legends in Concert Show to perform as a Tina Turner
celebrity look alike and sound alike impersonator. He explained
to Kiesha that the Legends in Concert Show was
a live show where she must use her voice to the fullest in order
to sound alike the rock and roll legend Tina Turner. With her
Creole looks and legs of Tina Kiesha's look alike performance
in Legends in Concert, Las Vegas, gained media
attention and she soon started to perform as a celebrity look
alike around the world from Hong Kong to South
Africa and other lands. Kiesha performed as a celebrity
impersonator with Legends in Concert, Las Vegas for
eight years until she decided to open her wings and depart from
the Legends in Concert Show in 1996
to produce her own legend show called Tina Mania.
Legends in Concert Story - Tina Mania Years
As
an Ikette Kiesha was taught Tina's dance techniques by the master
herself, Tina Turner, this along with years of experience with
the Legends in Concert Show, Las Vegas, inspired
Kiesha to produce her own legend show Tina
Mania—an up beat show that portrays
Tina Turner’s life story of today and
yesterday. Applying Tina Turner's dance method and style, celebrity
look alike Kiesha, the star of Tina
Mania, performs not only as celebrity look
alike Tina Turner, but as Diana Ross,
Chaka Khan and more. Ikettes, Las Vegas
style show girl dancers and other celebrity look alike impersonators,
as well as, specialized lighting and sound effects result in
a musical extravaganza that captivates audience
world wide. Says Kiesha about the Tina Mania Show “I am
most proud to offer this legend show, whether I perform as celebrity
look alike Tina Turner, Diana Ross or Chaka Khan I want the
audience to feel the person I am portraying."
Kiesha no longer performs in Legends in Concert, Las
Vegas; however, she still continues to perform as celebrity
look alike Tina Turner in her own Tribute Show produced by Electrolyte
Productions called Tina Mania. Kiesha is currently performing
